Peaches, n Backpacks, n Christmas photo shoots

So the summer has absolutely flown by.  Sometimes I wonder what all I've actually accomplished...but you know what, it's not at all about what all got accomplished.  It's about relationships...it's about savoring your family while they are here...it's about being there for a friend in need...it's about embracing your spouse and rejoicing over each and every day you have with them...it's about giving a homeless soul a meal...it's about being congenial to faraway strangers...it's about blowing bubbles and splashing in the pool with your children...most of all it's about praising God for each breath He has given us...THAT IS LIFE.  Along with canning peaches, freezing applesauce and corn, canning sweet hot pepper relish, and so much more! : ) 

Yes,

summer is about over, and the inevitable is approaching...sending my oldest son to school. So I thought I was okay with this whole transition, but the other day I commented, "You know, I'm afraid I'm gonna cry when the bus comes the first time." 

Seasons change...AND THAT MEANS CHRISTMAS PHOTO SESSIONS!!!

If you are thinking Christmas cards or just family photos...now is a prime time to schedule.  So you are thinking, I'd like to do it, but I don't have a clue what we'll wear.  Don't worry, just because you're scheduling now, doesn't mean I'll be at your doorstep tomorrow.  My fall sessions are filling up already, so I'd recommended you let me know and we can at least reserve a spot on my calendar.  Can't wait!!!

Because I can't post without a picture...here is my Kindergarten boy!  More to come in the next few weeks.  I want to do his 6 year session.

I love photographing teenagers!!  And it's so wonderful when they are a natural in front of the camera.  Seriously, she struck every pose just right, and even had some flair of her own.  Thanks for the oppurtunity to capture this time in your life.  God will lead you to great things!

C is for...

You know the saying, "Boys will be boys."  Well this guy is a genuine boy...he was riding around there with a motorized scooter-concerning his mom who would have preferred not to scrub grass stains.  I must say though he is quite charming with his looks, and was an awesome sport when it came for his turn in front of the camera.

I can only imagine what great and mighty things you might accomplish when your grown with all your energy!!

Sweet Nicole

"Hi, I'm Nicole...all the sweetness you might ever want to meet.   My mama and this picture lady LOVE the coffee shop, and we hang out there sometimes...alot. " 

Okay, enough already is what you're thinking...I know!  This is my sweet friend Carrie's  daughter; and little miss has all the sweetness she could inherit from her mom.   Here's Nicole!

So after the first few shots, Nicole was sure we had plenty of pictures and it was time to play...definitely NOT sit still in front of the camera.  Well having boys myself that have been in this stage of life...I realized it was time to bring out the ICECREAM.  Yay!!!

It  did the trick...plus made all of us just a little stickier.

Yes, I little delayed, but this is my baby's one year shoot.  He turned 1 in May.  He has brought so much happiness to our family. He is little Mr. independent with a sensitive side.  Loves sandboxes, ring around the rosy, and playing with big brother.  There are few things that warm my heart as much as his generous kisses when I come home from work.  Thank you God, for blessing our lives with this little man!

As you may have guessed, he is ALL boy and does NOT sit picture perfect all the time, as my pictures might portray.

So to prove this I must include a picture of one of his shenanigans.  (This is not the worst...after this he proceeded to climb to the TOP of the ladder and stand there hands-free...after that...he was lying in a heap on the ground!  And you wonder why I'm getting gray hair??

I love you from the bottom of my heart, Erik!  So blessed to have my blue-eyed boy!

Babies, Babies, Babies

Tis baby season for my camera...loving it!!  If all babies were as good as these three, well...I think I'd have a dozen!  These sessions were all on top of each other, but that's okay, because then all the props could stay packed and ready to go! 

Here's the first one...EVAN SETH...sweet has pie.  You could tell he has an older brother and sister, because all my jostling didn't seem to phase him much 

And I couldn't resist adding a pic of the happy brother and sister.

Next came EMMALYNN BROOKE...I was delighted have a baby girl shoot, since it seemed the world was seeing many more new little boys than girls.  Again a picture perfect little angel...who conveniently slept and let me do my thing!  Blessings little girl!

My 14 month old just absolutely adored Emmalyn...He was trying so hard to be gently and give her kisses and her nuk as she slept.  It's amazing how they grow, because not so long ago he was teeny tiny like her!

Last but not least is lovely SARA LYNN.  She is every photographers dream.  Headful of dark hair and all cuddly.  It was a nice evening, so I actually attempted her shoot outside.  Outdoors is my favorite, so hers to Sara Lynn...little sweetheart!

Here's to all the babies! Sweet, lovable, and a bit of heaven on earth!!!

Burnell & Jalissa

And this says it all!  Yes, they are engaged. I had so much fun with this session.  They told us on a Thursday night, and Jalissa and I were scheming up what cool props we could use. We went to Goodwill in hopes of finding a sofa.  Well, there was an ugly blue sofa there, and luckily I noticed some velcro at the bottom. Jalissa started questioning my sanity when I started ripping off the cover and discovered the perfect white sofa under the slip cover. Yay!  Needless to say, I'm excited for them and wish them a wonderful engagement.

Here is my beautiful niece...she's "graduating" this year, and finishing out high school at home, so I was privileged to do her "senior" pics.  She's the outdoorsy kind.  Loves nature, softball, playing guitar.   I love you, Jenna!!!

Maybe I should include, that I kinda insisted that she needs me to do her pictures. 

She was so patient with me, as I was trying to establish a relationship with D700.  Things are going a

bit better between us now!  : )

I wish you everything amazing, girl!!

I'm EXCITED!!!!

Along with the awesome spring weather, come other wonderful new things in my life!!!  Yes, I finally took the plunge and upgraded...a new Nikon D700- Past time and on my wishlist for SO long.  My two other slr's are going to retire.  I feel like I'm kinda being untrue to them, they served me well...went so many places with me, but now its time to be on with the new!!  Can't wait!!  Happy spring ya'll!!
